Boot Camp Marine Corps Recruit Depot -
From the anxiety of "Get off my bus!" to the relief of "Platoon one-thousand-eighty dismissed!" boot camp was quite an adventure. Every day was an adventure because I never really knew what to expect. Each day began with "Lights! Lights! Lights!" about 0500 and went until about 2100 or 2200 when we hit the rack. We went through several phases of training, which also included competition with the other platoons in our series and company in areas such as academics, drill, marksmanship, and inspection. We also had physical training (PT) several times a week. That got me into the best shape that I had ever been in my life. Some days went by when I never really thought about why I was there or what I was doing, but the real meaning came into focus as I was marching back across the parade deck from the Crucible. That was one week before graduation when I had finally earned the title "Marine." Boot camp was quite an adventure, and I am glad I joined the Marine Corps. I gained confidence and a sense of belonging and pride and respect for myself that I never knew I had. my memories from boot camp will last me a lifetime. <Coming Soon> Look here for pictures from Family Day and Graduation.
